Rumor: Next Halo Title a Squad-based Shooter?

I usually don't care to spread rumors, but given the source they claimed, it's a little more credible than some random guy on the internet.

Anyway, this sounds totally awesome. I'm really hoping it's true. If anyone even reads this before E3, I'll be sure to post here if it's announced at the Microsoft Press Conference. I'll be watching it live tomorrow.

I was just about to post a news story about this very thing. I reckon it's not too far-fetched. We'll definitely be seeing some sort of Halo announcement at E3, could this be it?

Lets not forget all that Superintendent stuff too. It's gonna be a very interesting Microsoft confrerence indeed.

i love squad based shooters!
But is it like a military shooter thing. like your a random soldier. or is it like your a group of spartans and you have shields and crap. i dont very much like shields... makes the game kinda too easy. I hope there is the ability to take cover behind walls.

Kinda makes sense when you consider Christian Allen, the former creative director at Red Storm (makers of Ghost Recon) has taken a new job at Bungie as 'design lead'.
